Project Placements are community-based projects with a mentor. Several examples of Project Placements are:
Candy Stripers at the Kelowna General Hospital, Art Assistants at the Kelowna Art Gallery, Halloween Haunt, Monster Bash, YMCA/YWCA etc. Students learn how to organize and assist with activities, communicate and work with peers, adults and youths/children in our community in a positive way.
All Project Placements are posted on the Reader Board and throughout the School. Please come to the Career Center to pick up an application form from Ms. Caldwell. When the mentor calls you regarding the placement you will at that time see Ms. Caldwell for the paperwork involved in the Placement. The paperwork includes: Work Experience Placement Agreement and a Project Placement Evaluation Form which is completed by the students as well as the Host. The completed paperwork is returned to Ms. Caldwell and you will receive your volunteer hours.
These hours go towards your 30 volunteer hours.
